Guest Newtson
This past spring I was hunting on my friends property...it was late season and the Toms were getting hard to call in. After sitting motionless and calling to a Tom who has been responding but not seemed to be getting any closer for over an hour...I decided to get try and get a little closer...I take one step out of my little brushy hidding spot and a jake flies literally 5 yards over my head...lands about 40 yards away and takes off running...and after not seeing anything all day and hunting with my bow I couldn't believe it. anybody else have some bad luck this past spring? Guest HoppeMan
Yeah I had this big Tom coming in over a hill, I couldn't see him cuz I was sitting in a wash-out. Turns out I had only one chance for a shot, and a very slim chance at that. I passed up on it in hopes of getting a better shot, but the oppertunity never came. Well, I take that back, I had a left-handed shot, but I had never taken a left-handed shot before, so I didn't want to risk it. After a while, he bored and walked off. That was the only bird that season that came within range of my gun Take care, Nathan
