OJR
Quite some time ago, there was an web site of a live camera in Africa! I put it in as one of my favorites and this morning there was a "HUGE" bull elephant at the water hole! Last night before I went to bed, I checked it out and there were 5 giraffes eating out of the tree tops! It is spring time there now and the place is really getting green. I haven't seen any little fellers yet, but just a matter of time and the little guys are going to show up! The web site is: www.wavelit.com Go to it, scroll down and click on Africam Enjoy it! Don't get discouraged if there isn't any animals at the water hole. They will pan around so there is quite the view! They are 9 hours ahead of me and I am on PDT! I just clicked on the link, scrolled down and clicked on "Africam"! It takes a little while to load, but then it comes right up! There are monkeys and some kind of antelope there now!:)

OJR
By the way, the camera in Africa is on 24/7 and there are lots of times that the animals come in and drink at night! Especially the Cape buffalo and lions if they are feeding close by! A few weeks ago, a wildebeest fell over and died right in front of the lodge! After it got done kicking, in just a matter of minutes it was covered with buzzards! In about 10 minutes a pack of hyaena's moved in and they drove the buzzards off. After a few hours, another pack of hyaena's tried to take it away and there was a big fight! The invaders lost! It took about 1 1/2 days and there wasn't any sign that anything had died or had been eaten! Interesting to watch!

I caught maybe 20 seconds of him. Awesome. There must be something nearby because I saw a car drive up earlier and run some animals off and there was someone spotlighting the lion....not that he cared. Cool stuff. OJR
There are vehicles that come out from the lodge and take people right out among the animals! I have seen the lions eating a Cape buffalo they had killed and they drove within feet of the kill and the lions! It is very interesting when the lions feed! They gorge themselves, drink and lay around panting to speed up the digestive action so they can eat again real soon!

I wouldn't want to drive too closely....I saw a video of a man getting eaten by a pack of lions. They walked off with his leg with his foot still in his shoe! nativetexan
Thanks. About 3 months ago I had managed to walk away from that site because I was addicted and spent far too much time watching. Now I am addicted again. My friend in Michigan is so addicted that she pulls it up on her laptop and leaves it running all night in her bedroom so she can listen to the noises of Africa while she sleeps.
