Sask Buck, Help Score

I think he's wider then most guys will think. Those Sask deer are BIG bodied. I'm guessing around 15inches.

The main beams on this dude are also super long. Add to that he's a basic frame 10 with long tines.

I really think this is a mid 150s deer. Very very nice.

That's what I used too Leo. I think he's going to be close to 150 gross give or take a few inches.

I'd hate to guess his age since I've never been north of the border to see them first hand.

He looks to be a mature buck and would sure be hard to pass up, although i have seen bigger bucks in the area, any clue as to age??

I know in Saskatchewan a bigger deer is a very real possibility. However, even there I wouldn't pass on that deer.

Yes, he lacks spread but that's literally all that rack lacks. He makes up for the spread lack with terrific height on all his tines and some killer long main beams. That rack has serious depth and height. Look how much main beam sticks out from the G4 and the spacing between his tines. He could easily fit another tine in between the G4 and the end of that beam at same spacing the other tines are at. On a 10ptr that means fabulous main beam length. Lot's of 10s look crabby on the G4s and still score in the 140s. Nothing crabby about the ends of that guy's main beams. Also in the side view picture you can see his antlers really aren't round they are flattened ovals. Look between the G2 and G3, there's a good bit of bone there. That means there's a lot more mass there then the impression you get from the initial front view. I'm sticking with mid 150s on him and I'd bet a tag on it.

No prominent potbelly or saggy brisket so I'm thinking he's probably just 3 1/2. He might pick up some stickers and mass next year but I sure wouldn't feel like I cheated myself out of a bigger deer by taking him now.

What part of Saskatchewan you hunting? I've been to Weekes a couple times and Chitek Lake once.
