Bob LeBlanc
sounds like you need to get inland a bit, and go hunting... lol I was inland, steve...and we left the woods at noon. Winds hit 135 km (81 mph) here last night. Chances are Lewis (NSWhitetail) got it even worse. I don't doubt he is without power right now...we only got ours back 1/2 hour ago. Bob We never lost power ( don't know how ) ----- things were shaking around here pretty good after midnight last night -- only thing that helped, was that the wind hauled from the northeast ( worst way of all ) and blew the hardest from the southwest. arrow32
Did you guys have to tie yourselfs down for that kind of wind? Dang that is some strong blowing wind would hate to see that.
Bob LeBlanc
Dang that is some strong blowing wind would hate to see that. Actually, Arrow, it's an awesome thing to see. This storm wasn't as bad as when hurricane Juan hit...now there was a storm! My house is in a hollow so we didn't get the heaviest winds directly...but you could hear the winds coming in like a freight train. They'd suck a vacuum over top of the trees, pulling all the branches straight up...then release and all the branches would come crashing towards the ground. At the guy whose property we were hunting on, a branch about 1 1/2" round was shot through one of his planters like it was an arrow! Awesome to see...dangerous to be out in! Hey Lewis, Wasn't sure whether you weathered the weather:D. They had 14 metre seas at Queensland...guess the eastern side got the worst of the winds. Nice buck, by the way:cool:. Shaun_300
Yeah I heard about that on the weather network, haven't been watching it lately to see what happened, but before the storm hit they were predicting winds as high as 140 km/hr. Hope there wasn't too much storm damage.
