I was wanting to know what you all think would be some good scents to use during the rut. I heard about the new scent SHE STANDS HE ATTEMPTS TO BREED WE BOTTLE IT. I'm thinking about getting some of that. I was also wanting to know if you all know any ways to make a monster buck to come out of a thicket during the rut. I was going to get a dedcoy, a grunt call, and a rattle bag but I dont know if that will scare him away or just make him more warry of coming out. I've been hunting him for 2 years and he just likes to come out at night or just walk along the deep thicket were you see nothing but his antlers. I'm not the type of person to shoot at noise or try to guess were his vitals are. So if you all could help I would really appreciate it. Thanks!!! GIT-R-DONE

Good luck to you all this season..

Not sure if you are hunting with a gun or bow, but here is what I would suggest.

Buy some estrous urine "I like code blue or either special golden estrus by wildlife reasearch" & some buck urine. I wouldn't use any "dominant" buck urine unless he's an aggressive buck & you've found violent rubs nearby. Get a 2 headed drag rag set. Put some estros urine on 1 & put some regular buck urine on the other. Walk along where you've seen that deer. If you can walk a path leading back to your stand or to a shooting lane where you want him to go. After you've done that with your drag, hang 2 scent wicks on a tree or brush in that shooting lane. 1 wick in buck urine the other in estrous urine.

I plan to do this same thing this coming weekend for a big buck I've spotted twice. Once he was intimidating younger bucks the other time I saw him he was following some does.

As for calls, I LOVE "the can" by primos, the original one & a regular grunt tube to sound like a grunting buck.

I use tink's 69 in some stuff i can up with it will stay strong in a scape for days. I have been use it for they last 3-4 years and dont have deer to spook often. i put it in scrapes and around my stand. This year i killed a 174" 13 point at 40 yard. 2 years ago i killed a 127" 9 point at about 30 yards and a 132" 8 point close and they all never know i was there. This stuff keeps your scents strong love 2 use it. Put it out right and the deer will get close.

I use Mrs. Doe Pee, and tinks 69. Kinda sounds to me like your kicking him out or alerting him when you go to your stand or blind. And/or he is moveing during the day light when your not around. There was another post about this same kinda thing recently. Try hunting mid day if you can. You would be suprised on the luck you will have.
