Shawn
It was 38 degrees when i got into the stand at 6:30 this morning. At 7:15 had good seeing light and watched the doe and two fawns for about 15 minutes. Bout 10 minutes after their departure another button buck and doe show up. The walk off into the swamp. I see nothing till 9:20ish when i see a buck coming out of the swamp to my right heading straight for me. He then cuts a trail 30 yards behind me and into some brush and i have no shot. Turns out to be a unique 4 point. fork on right, and a spike with brow on left. Hes now about 60 yards behind me, I grunt, hit the can bleat, Nothing! He doesnt care. All of a sudden i hear some movement and a buck grunting. He comes from where the does and fawns came earlier and starts thrashing a small tree. Another 4 pointer. He trotts over to the other 4 pointer and startes trailing him back to me. Kicking him out of the area. They both get to 10 yards away on the trail im set up on. The dominant of the 4 pointers has a bigger body, and he stops to sniff my tinks bomb. i come to full draw and he starts walking. I give him a "eah" to stop him and i smoke him. Pass through and he goes ten yards and stops. A few seconds later he drops. I watch him thrash and kick a little. All of a sudden he gets the strength to get up. Goes another ten yards and drops again. Few seconds later hes expired and lays 30 yards from me. What a great morning. You know everyone talks about muzzys and mechanical broadheads and the holes they cut....But i tell you what I still use thunderhead 100g and check out the hole it cut into him. tlott89
atta boy shawn.my dad shot at a 4 point this morn also it was real un ique,it only had one side of its rack.we never ended up finding it because he hit it alittle far back b/c he said his string hit the mask.we trailed blood for awhile, lost blood, had a good idea of where he was walked over there and kicked him up and never saw him again.my dad thinks that the guts plugged the hole up so it wouldnt leave any blood.we'll probually look for him tomorrow some more.im still waiting to see my first buck within shooting distance
