Guest CADDIE5
11/04/2007 8:50 AM Has anyone tried the new Winchester XP3 12 ga. sabot slug ammo or the new Federal Vital-Shok P152XT1 with Barnes expander tipped sabot slug? If so in what gun and what is the barrel twist of the rifled barrel. I have a Hastings Heavy target 26" barrel with a 1-34 twist on a Remington 870. I just bought an American Barrel Co. 12 ga. barrel 24" with a 1-26 fast twist. This barrel is manufactured by Badger Barrel of Bristol, Wi. It is a cut rifled match grade barrel for the Rem. 870. The fast twist barrel is made for sabot slugs only and not lead slugs since it has a very fast twist. Benelli shotguns, TarHunt, and Brownings new shotgun use a 1-28 twist barrel. I shoot a scoped shotgun with a Kahles 1.5x6 scope with german 3 plex reticle. I also have a Weaver level on the cantilever rail so I don't cant the shotgun for better accuracy at longer ranges
