Shawn
I am going to be cooking a dinner at our hunt camp once gun season comes and we're up there for the whole week. Anyone have a good recipe for a venison roast that i want to cook in a crockpot?
birdhunter39
i just add salt and pepper and cook it real slow for 8-10 hrs, towards the end i add bell peppers so they don't get mushy

matq2gs
A can of cream of mushroom soup along with the potatoes, carrots and onions works real well.
Guest Andrea
Salt and pepper it really well. Rub the seasonings into the meat. A dash of liquid smoke rubbed in tastes great too. Slice an onion and place on top of the roast. Cook on low for 6-8 hours. Then add diced potatoes and carrots and cook for another 1 1/2 - 2 hours til soft. colescott1
Close, but a little different from above.... 1 roast, 1 can cream of mushroom, 1 packet of Onion Soup Mix in the crockpot. Put the roast in, dump the other stuff on top. Put it on low in the AM, and come back in to eat at dark...YUM.
ultratec1
I think that the one thing that I have done diffrently then inthe past is that I put the roast in frozen solid!!! I add 1" of water in the bottom and add 3-4 bay leaves and let it cook for 6 hrs on low. Then I add potatos and a bag of baby carrots. Let it cook and presto!! Cant even pick it up with a fork!! One can goes in with the water and the other can goes in me!
