8ptbuckpa
What are some signs or recommendations to go by fto find when its time to change strings?
MUDRUNNER
Generally strings should last a few years as long as you keep them waxed.I just look for any bad fraying or serving wear, especially around the cams and wheels.
Southerngirl
what he said, You need to watch for alot of fraying on the strings at wear points, also look at the cable guard. Good waxing will greatly increase your string life.
Guest bowhunter56
Depends alot on how much you shoot, most wear or signs of problems will be where the string or cables go around the wheels or cams, the serving usually shows signs of wear. Like southerngirl mentioned, wax and wax. Usually a string or cable can be reserved rather than replaced.
Southerngirl
also if your getting alot of timing issues and peep rotation alot of people replace the strings, but that's usually a sign of crappy strings not string wear

proudowner
I agree with Mudrunner and Southerngirl. You got to watch for fraying on the string and make sure you wax it alot!
