Turkeygirl
I need your help...I'm bad at decision making:D I've got all my homework done for tomorrow, so obviously I can go hunting:D It's 30 degrees....snowing off and on, not really accumulating. The options are: (1) Walk around looking for turkeys - have shotgun, but whenever I do that, I see deer and can't shoot because obviously I don't have my bow. (2) Take my bow instead and look for turkeys in the fields, if I see them, stalk and try to get a shot, or if I see a deer in range, a doe, which is likely, get a shot. (3) Take my bow and sit in a stand and wait for a doe to come by....west wind and snowy, good weather, but I might get cold quick. I just don't know what to do..I'm opting towards 2...harder to hit a turkey with bow, but turkey or deer can be done, can't do two with shotgun...What would you choose ...and why? Thanks! First of all, a big "yeah!" for getting that homework done and out of the way for hunting! Second, my vote is for option 3. Add a little pile of something yummy to get them interested in stopping and staying a while, and hopefully a nice buck will follow the doe right into a shooting lane. As for getting cold, layer up and know that when the hunt is over, you can go home to hot cocoa!

wtnhunt
Take the bow and go for deer and if a turkey happens along, which seems to be likely around here, take advantage of the opportunity.

Turkeygirl
Well I went on spot and stalk..found fresh turkey tracks in a corn field...then the edge of woods by another corn field, found the hills side torn up by turkeys...maybe it's the spot to be. Andy saw the turkeys there about a week ago. Then I stalked some days later on....got about 50 yards but no luck...too far. Not bad overall. WiHunter813
I'd go with 2 that way you get a chance at both
CampRAGS
option #3 my preference is deer hunting to any other when the season is open
stevebeilgard
too late, but i'd have taken the bow. the snow falling can be a good gap narrower. and you can go for deer or turkey.
