Guest benelli_man_84
I am getting ready for the 18th of this month, cause that is when season opens down here in Ga. Me and Sportsman2500HD are gonna team up this year and do some more hunting together. When does the season open up for the other states? Also, I got a question for yall. If a friend of yours brought a another friend of his to a pay dove shoot, and this guy was smoking weed would you say something to him, and when he told you off in so many words, would you A) tell the landowner about it, or B) call the local game warden? I told the landowner, and now my "friend" told me that he does not want to hunt with me anymore. He said that he is worried that I may pull that stunt on him over something petty. Thing is, I gave the guy a chance to stop what he was doing, and I make sure that I hunt LEGAL!!!!! I guess he skipped the night of hunter education where they taught about mixing mind altering substances with firearms. I dont think I was wrong on what I did, except for one thing. I should have called the game warden on him. DO yall feel the same way?
camoman1
Duck season opens then end of september or beginning of october depending what part of the state (WI) your in. I wish it opened later and stayed open longer....but oh well. As for wardens, I wouldnt say anything if i was hunting a place i frequent. I hunt/fish by the rules, but i dont need a warden 'checking up' on me and my buddies all the time ' because of that one time'. Maybe the wardens by you are a little different than around me ?? lol
Guest benelli_man_84
I dont care what he does on his own time, but not when he is hunting. My folks are well known in the county that I hunt in, and I have been checked a few times, but I dont mind getting checked. They are just doing their job. I was on a paid hunt that I hunt about once a year. EMS in the south does not pay that well, but for being only 23, I cant complain. I usually work about 16-17 24 hour shifts in a month, so I get some hours in every month.
double_drop
I believe you did the right thing. I would have told it to his face and if he would have had a problem with it then there might have been more than just words but maybe even just call the sheriff because he would have really been in trouble because firearms and illegal substances equals higher fines and upgrades the charges to IE felonies. dogdoc
you're not going to see me hunting with a guy that is smoking pot. Being high and handling firearms just don't go together.
