OJR
My wife and I left the house at 6:30 yesterday morning and headed for Post Fall, ID! It is about 125 miles from here! We had a "special invitation" to the pre-grand opening of the new Cabela's store! We stopped and picked up a friend of ours in Moscow, ID and proceeded to Post Falls! When we got there, the parking lot was filled, so our friend dropped us off at the front door and went and parked the truck! As soon as we walked in, I showed the people at the door, my Cabela's Club card and we were welcomed with open arms! I wonder why?? The place was packed! Where do we start looking?? 125,000 square feet of goodies! I found several different items that I was looking for. I also found a little scope for a 22 rifle in the "Bargain Cave"! There was a scratch on it and they had marked it down $10.00! Great little scope for that rifle! We also found a stand for smoking/cooking"beer can" chickens. It had been dropped and one corner was dented! Big deal! I looked at a shotgun, but it was a little out of my price range! $14,000.00! In fact, it was waaaaaaaayyyyyyyy out of my price range! We enjoyed the whole thing and will go back after the crowds have slowed down a bit! The full body mounts are very impressive! We got home around 5:30 last evening!

buckee
That sure sounds like a fun day. All we have here is a tiny little shop that sells hunting trinkets
DSGB
Can't beat those deals! We were supposed to have one oppening in Alpharetta, I believe, but I think the plans have changed. I wish it would hurry up and get here!
muggs
Cool. The city my Dad lives in is one of three remaining cities left in the competition to get a Cabelas built. I really hope it happens. Not only could I stop there pretty much whenever I felt like it, but it would do wonders for Brunswick, Ohio...and my Dad's property value. Guest Andrea
A 14k shotgun? Wow. What made it so special?
OJR
Special Shotgun A 14k shotgun? Wow. What made it so special? It was a Perazzi O/U competition type shotgun. According to the "Blue Book of Gun Values", they could range from about $6,000 to $72,000. They also had guns that were used by Tom Selleck, Clint Eastwood and the best were used by John Wayne, "the DUKE", himself! These were just on display only! I was amazed at the amount of "used" guns they had. They were priced very moderate! I also could not believe the amount of items that I have NEVER seen in any of their catalogs! I have been buying from them for over 40 years!:) Will have to go back when there isn't so many people and really check it out as to what is all in the store. It can take you several days to do that! LOL!!
