I wasn't going to go out at all this morning, but I got a call from my good friend Mike (on the right in the pic) yesterday afternoon around 3:00pm. He was on his way down to hunt today, tomorrow and the weekend. We were swapping stories, talking about deer movement here in Ohio lately and it was then that I decided I was going to get out for at least a few hours this morning. I told myself that at 9:30am I was going to get down and head home to get ready for work. This guy came along around 9:00am. I saw him from about 150 yards off, working a scrape on the edge of a picked corn field. I grabbed my binos and decided he was good enough, by the time I put them away and got my grunt tube in hand, he was already heading my way. I didn't even need to call to him, so I grabbed my bow and sat tight. He came in the woods as I was coming to full draw, he walked down the exact trail I needed him to and at 25 yards I stopped him with a soft mouth grunt. The Rage 2 blade took out both shoulders and he did a bull-dozer down through the woods. 100 yards later, he was down for the count.

Typical 10 pointer with a small kicker near his right G4, about 18" inside, G2's and 3's are about 8-9".

Mike set up his camera on a little 5" tripod to take this picture, I think it turned out great. From L to R, Woody - who is my good friend from high school and the land-owner, me and Mike.

Thanks for reading all.

Another year goes by and my friend gets another Ohio bruiser of a buck! Congrats Tom and face it, your story about Ohio having no big bucks does not hold any truth to it anymore! I was giving you the benefit of last years buck being a fluke buck that got lost and wandered into Ohio by mistake!!! Now I am onto you and your buddy Chris' plan to keep all the big bucks in your state!!!:D

Awesome buck, you da man!! 2 years in a row with awesome bucks taken with a bow! Great job!!!

Congrats again Tom. Outstanding deer.

I sent Tom a PM early in the morning with a medical update, and he usually answers right away, but he didn't today. That usually means 2 things--he's golfing or hunting. :D

I figured it was too cold to golf, so I said to myself "that booger went hunting...."

Good deal.

My turn I hope, lol.

Did Mike green score him?
