The "numbers" I found out when asking this same question last fall is its suggested to have a minimum of 25KE.

Now with a 45# recurve and an arrow that is 10 gpp (grains per pound of draw wieght) you should be ok. Or better said an arrow that is 450 to 550 grains with tip off a 45 to 55 pound bow.

Tradition hunters tend to go real heavy for higher momentum. Its not unrealistic to see 600 grain arrows out of 55# bows..

Not sure about hunting hogs since they are a bit thicker and a lot more tough on muscle groups but I would not worry about hunting deer with a 45# with a 450 to 500g arrow.

But no less.
