Luck Needs To Change!

Last weekend I proved that my luck in bowhunting sucks. Last weekend on Sat. morning I was sitting in my ladder stand. And I haven't killed anything real big with my bow i have gotten lucky twice actually. Anyways i see legs and i get ready not knowing if it was a buck or a doe. A big bruiser 8 pointer i think steps out at 10 YARDS! Well Im already standing and i try to draw and he sees me and jumps behind a bush and just kind of walks away.

Sun. Morning Im sitting in my lone wolf climber and i glance right and i see two does making their way towards me. Well one its jumpy as heck and the other is calm. I finally get one within 30-32 yards and i shoot and miss. Right under her which probaly means more like 32 yards. But then to make it all better i hang my bow back up and i am watching the doe walk away and i don't nock another arrow. I hear crunching and i look left and i see a very nice buck with a broken brow tine but with stickers so im guessing he was an 8-10 pointer. Anyways i get an arrow nocked and hes like 25 yards away and i draw and i guess that hes about 30. Well i shoot right over him. And he crashes down the hill running away. I find both arrows assuring myself that i missed and i go home. I need some luck or something.

Here's a little tip for ya. Get some flagging tape, and measure out 10, 20, and 30 yrds in 3 different directions (right left and center) of the tree your in.

The next time a deer walks in, you'll have a better idea how far he is, because you will be able to connect the dots for ranging it better. ;)

I don't think you need any luck, just change some things, like buckee said measure your distances, or get a pendulum sight and take the guess work out of it, you see the deer, you get the shots, just work on a few things and the success will come..:)

Shoot at a target from an elevated position for fun before going out.....make sure everything is still tuned in...I had my sights bumped just recently, and if my son didnt catch it, I would be launching them good and clear of any deer.........you'll score, at least your seeing deer in range........thats half the battle right there........you will score.....good luck this season..al
