At 25 yards....thwack...

wearing RT hardwoods pants and a jacket in RT AP, I put the Hoyt to the test this morning, about quarter after 7am and sent an arrow into a tasty button buck:D I was about as excited as anything...since starting bowhunting 7 years ago, I've now gotten a deer out of this stand every year, and this is my first deer taken in the morning, my farthest shot taking a deer, and I've only had this bow 1 year and it now has 4 deer to it's credit:cool: So the story goes Andy and I get in our stands a little before 6:30am. Gets light out. About 7ish I see a doe about 50 yards in front of me, I'm watching her, then I hear a snap and right behind me and below me is a button buck. Oh shoot, I can't move! He looks up and must have seen my head move. He never really freaked though, he looked again, stomped, then trotted into some hemlocks to my right. I couldn't see him and thought he'd left. Then I hear him and he comes out to my right. One clear shot, not even a shooting lane but if I can get him to stop between these trees, perfect. My hand shakes putting the release on the loop:eek: He's not 30 yards but farther then 20...aah what pin? Ok, just get a pin on him! I draw my bow..BAAHH...he stops broadside, I quickly put the sight on him, aiming between 25 and 30 and let her fly. THWACK! I hear it hit and he takes off. YES, I know it hit good! I climb down and find blood almost immediately, I call Andy on the radio to let him know then I go back to my stand to get my back and stuff. Blood trail is great, despite wet wet leaves, I find my arrow and about 40 yards from where I hit him, there he lays. Then while cleaning him, a doe was about 20-25 yards behind me, didn't know she was there until I moved and she snorted. What an awesome morning to be outside. The Lord really blessed me today! Sorry for the long story, lol. By the way thanks Realtree, I really really think that camo really helped me, especially the AP, I love it.
