colts1888 Posted November 11, 2007 Report Share Posted November 11, 2007 This morning I took my biggest buck to date, and only my second with a bow. This year i finally had the money so i purchased me a new bow, a 2007 Bear Code. In the last week i have taken a doe and now this buck. Man it sure feels nice to shoot a bow that isn't 15 years old:D I seen a nice buck right at first light, then nothing for an hour. Around 8:15 i heard deer running in the thicket behind me, turned and looked and seen this buck and a smaller 8 chasin 3 does. I actually ended up pulling the Buck away from the doe with a grunt tube, which surprised me. He made up 80 yards in about 3 seconds. Both bucks passed 20 yards behind my stand, i shot the bigger of the 2 and he went 35 yards and fell over. Im trying to figure out if this might not be the same buck i seen at first light, he may have circled back around on me. If it wasnt, then there is another nice one out there. This is a pretty good deer for the little piece of property i hunt. I have hunted this place going on 7 years, and could count on one hand the number of mature deer i have seen. I've passed up a lot of small deer there over the years so it feels good to finally get a decent one, especially with the bow. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
