ThethirdI
Equipment Used : 1992 Dodge Dakota Pick-up Range: 0 yards Score : Unknown Weight: Close to 300 lbs. I was on my way to take my son (pictured with me) to go bowhunting and we never made it to the hunt. About half way to my buddy's house I wound up destroying my pick-up with this bruiser. My son and I have agreed that since it was his hunting trip then it must be his deer ! It is the biggest buck I've ever had my hands on and it will make a lot of tasty dinners and a great looking mount. I haven't found out yet what it's going to cost me to get my truck back on the road, but pretty much the whole front end is gone. I was going 55 mph and never even got to hit the brakes. I never saw him coming. I'm of course upset about the truck, but I think I'm more upset that a magnificent buck like this had to meet his demise this way. At least he'll not be left on the side of the road to rot and his memory will live on while he's on my wall. Maybe next week when I take my boy hunting he can get one with his shotgun instead of my truck! LOL
kingfisherfd2
Insurance should cover the truck with a deer collision. I got one with my truck a few years ago. Did get on the breaks. Caught it square in the grill. Cops came and we never found the deer. Kinda bummed me out knowing that it more then likely went off and died. buckee
Oh yeah! and I forgot to mention. I have LIABILITY ONLY on my truck. Everything's going to be out of pocket. OUCH, that's a bummer It's nice to see you can smile and have fun with the circumstances with your son...regardless. He is going to taste good. Hope there isn't too much internal damage to the deer. Hind quarters should be OK.

I did the same to my truck on the 30th of October and I am still waiting to get my truck back. Nice deer though. Archerjg

ThethirdI
Well the damage estimate is in and the repairs are going to be somewhere in the neighborhood of about $2,600. That's almost as much as I paid for the truck 3 months ago when I bought it! What a bummer!
Tominator
That's too bad, kinda. Lucas county? My wife has family in the Monclova area.

ThethirdI
Tominator. I was on State Route 64. 64 is the dividing line between Lucas and Fulton Counties.
