jbeck
OK, brother in law called at 9 am Saturday to say he just missed a good buck and he was headed my way. I watched for an hour and he never came past. We go home and he said the buck was 15 yards for 5 min. and he didn't have his bow in his hand. When the buck headed out he stopped him at 30 yards and put his arrow dead into a tree. Man did I feel for him, he thought the buck would score 126" He has 22 buck that score better than 130" so he does know what he's looking at. I head up in the evening, see a 16" six point at 3:30, and a few does at 4:30, 5:05 I hear a deer coming down the mountain, I look through the bino's and here he comes. He's on a trail that will pass at 6 yards. Just before he gets to a good lane he wheels and heads back the other way hard. he stopped at 12 yards quartering away, I'm at full draw and already telling the story to my friends. LOL Half way there the arrow hits the tree that I thought I gave plenty of clearence. Man what a good buck, would have been my best bow buck to date. I was glad for a clean miss, but I thought I had him when he stopped. It has been quite a while since I've missed, I sure picked the wrong buck to do it with though. Looks like I'll have to pick up the rifle and try to remember how one works. LOL Good luck to all Jeff :D
