birdhunter39
buy those hand warmer packs , they don't make them like they used to though , but they're still good , or put your hands under your arm pits , i learned this years ago
unioncountyslayer
I wear the Under Armour Cold Gear gloves. They have a pouch on them that can hold a hand warmer and velcros shut. Pretty warm gloves.

If you have this and just one of them air activated hand warmers! You will be set the ENTIRE DAY!!! It also comes in Realtree too! http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/product/standard-item.jsp?_DARGS=/cabelas/en/common/catalog/item-link.jsp_A&_DAV=search&id=0017262921324a&navCount=2&podId=0017262&parentId=&masterpathid=&navAction=push&catalogCode=XH&rid=&parentType=&indexId=cat602389&hasJS=true
natethebowhunter
how much do both of those items cost?????the under armour and the pouch??
Michiganbowhunter_SQ2
I have a hand muff, not the one LifeNRA posted but same idea, they work great and most have little pockets you can put hand warmers into. I also have a pair of gloves i use sometimes, they are the mitten type that fold back, but they still have the fingers...i think they work good, have a little pocket on top for hand warmers, and when i am ready to shoot, i can kind of just slip my trigger finger out to pull the trigger kind of like this
wtnhunt
My handwarmer pockets in my parka are lined with thinsulate. Anymore I rarely wear gloves while sitting in the stand. I do have and use a pair of thinsulate gore tex cabelas deluxe shooting gloves though, and they are ok, but the finger tips do get a little cold when the temps dip way down. toddyboman
Have to agree with LifeNRA. THe hand muff is the way to go :) I usually wear a light pair of gloves. and then stick them in the muff to keep them extra warm. :) Great investment!! LifeNRA
how much do both of those items cost?????the under armour and the pouch?? I provided a link below to take you where I purchased it. It costs $30, the hand warmers are about $2 for the small two pack. I actually have the coldest hands in the entire USA! I also like shooting with bare hands maybe a small tight fitting gloves, not bulky! So far I have not found a pair of gloves that will out preform this muff and a cheap hand warmers! Also, the ONLY hand warmers I buy are called My-Coal from Grabber, the walmart ones SUCK!

THe hand muff is the way to go :) I usually wear a light pair of gloves. and then stick them in the muff to keep them extra warm. :) Great investment!! I've got a muff like that and wear a very light pair of Rocky gloves. They are some sort of really light under armor type material. The gloves are great for shooting and the muff with hot hands will keep you alot warmer than you would think.
snapper
I have a hand muff as well...usally just a thin pair of gloves with the muff on cold days or just my waterproof Rocky gloves (a little thicker than I prefer, but work well). For the really really cold rifle hunting days...I usally wear the Rocky's with the muff. I have poor circulation in my hands and they get cold easy...but with the muff, my hands are still usable (they still get cold sometimes...but not bitter, freezing cold). Ravin R10 man
I usually dont wear gloves in my stand...have my Mr. Heater on so I have plenty of heat...doing drives, I get too heated up so Im not wearing them either, unless I am on stand watching, even then only a light pair is all I need. dont know what brand, but they have thinsulate..and get them on sale after season..like most of the stuff I need, it wont be on sale for another two weeks..LOL
arrow32
I have to agree with John. Hand muffs are the way to go. I always use that and just have on a light pair of gloves. Put a handwarmer in it as well when it gets really cold to make it a little warmer in that thing and my hands never get cold while on stand. Guest IllinoisMackDaddyHunter
Buy a thin pair of solid fleece gloves. They work better than anything ive ever used. When you use the hand warmers they work good until you expose your hands. The cold zaps the heat right out then your cold. Kinda like putting your tongue on a frozen pole. Sticks right to it. Think about it.
Gator
I have a pair of tghe fingerless gloves made by Winchester, that also have a mitten flap. These are the first gloves I have ever used that keep my hands warm. It was 20 thursday morning, and everything was warm but my FEET!!!! Guest J-Daddy
I agree with some of the other guys...The Handmuff is the way to go when the temp drops. I just bowhunt so I HATE the big bulky gloves so my cold weather glove choice is a pair of thin glove liners and a pair of the green liners from PRIMOS over the top of them and if the weather is really cold I use my Handmuff and some of the Hothands handwarmers inside the muff and I'm good to go. My hands are the first thing to go when it gets cold but this setup keeps me warm and it still thin enough to shoot well.
cinch314
I wear the Arctic shield gloves that have two parts. The thin gloves that you can feel everything, then the heavy part that you can put on over them and flip back to have a good shot.
LifeNRA
It was 20 thursday morning, and everything was warm but my FEET!!!! I wear a pair of normal socks for the walk in. Once I get to my stand I take my boots off, and let my feet and boots dry out! Then I put on a pair of heavy wool socks! You got to keep your feet dry if you want them to stay warm! Guest smacky
i bought a hand muff made by Icebreakers from Dicks Sporting Goods 2years ago that was on sale for 12.99 and i must say, it's one of my best investments i've made for hunting. i've hunted in some 10 to 15 degree days and all i wear is a thin glove on the hand that holds my bow, and no glove at all on the hand that i have my release on. Strut10
Try a pair of polypropolene glove liners under your Thinsulate gloves. (or any gloves for that matter)
Hoosierbuck
I have a good system for me. I put on thin Polypro gloves, then my "mittens" from Cabela's that don't have the individual fingers, just a big slot in the palm so all your fingers can stick out. I put one of the body warmers (same thing as the handwarmers except bigger and...warmer!) in each mitten top and I am good to go to 10 below. Probably lower, but we just don't get too far down usually. HB
Texan_Til_I_Die
If you use the air activated handwarmers and they're still warm at the end of the hunt, try putting them into a good ziplock bag. Once they use up all of the oxygen in the bag, they'll go out. Then when you open the bag, they'll reactivate and heat back up.
