pointing_dogs_rule
First of all I am blessed to live in northeast Iowa. I had seen this deer on and around my property twice and decided to go to the treestand behind my property. I spotted him at 200 yards and gave a gentle rattle. His head went up and he eventually strolled on in. I got some good photos, however, one is blurry. He is a young nine and will make a VERY NICE DEER NEXT YEAR!! Now if only that 180 class deer will come in to me!!! I am hoping!!! good luck to all the dog

buckee
If that was a blacktail, he'd be a monster I'd take him. Sure he'll be thicker next year, but he's nice now, and real tasty too

The Kid
it depends because if i had a deer like that i wouldn't get to see him next year on my property, but if you own a lot of land were you can control which deer live and you can take out the ones you don't want than i would let him walk, but if i saw him at 18 yards i would have to put my mathews to good use!! hoytman26
I'd wait another year on him. Nice buck. If he's bigger than what you got, shoot him.
