98chevy
There is a guy who is from alabama who is a known world class hunter. He shot a old jennings or something. Pulled 120 l.b.s with no sights. Every one he teaches is taught to shoot instictivly. I know next year I will be shooting a recurve and my brother a long bow. Also My best friend can shoot a bottle top at 30 yards with his mathews and no sights. I let him shoot mine (same bow) he cant group for nothing

Guest bow_hunter101
I have a Fred Bear compound bow that's 50 pound draw weight and I practice shooting it instinctively alot. I can put a kill shot on a 3d deer target out to 40 yards with it. I don't hunt with it though. I'd sure love to get a deer shooting instinctive sometime! wtnhunt
When I first got my first compound bow I did. How I learned to shoot with a recurve, seemed pretty natural really.

Shawn
i watched his show the other night while he was buffalo hunting. he clearly showed he had no sights, and mentioned how it was instinctive shooting.
arrow32
Earlier this year I got fed up with shooting with pins so ripped them off my bow in May. After a month of shooting like that I put them back on. Fun to shoot tho.

aksheephuntress
.....I am no experienced bow hunter,by any means - and have only shot a couple of years....but when I was given that bow the other day on my birthday, in back of the store in the shooting lane (after some draw length adjustments and poundage set to 46 lbs...) -It was handed to me; a release (Trueballs?) was strapped on my wrist, and I consistently shot tight patterns right after another...(5 groupings of 3 arrows each, and the arrows all touched-except 4 of them-was 2"out).....no sight had been put on the bow yet.... -And...I don't think I will bother, right now ; -Everything...how the bow felt with me, ease of where I felt I could naturally hold my head....just a freedom; and I grew to like that release, too, after a few groupings;- I never tried one before...but, I like it- -it was a youth bow, actually, I was given....a Bowtech Diamond... ...Kind of reminded me of that .30-06 I recently found...You KNOW when you shoulder it, and shoot it...it just feels right, and easy- -I'll still shoot my Martin, too...but-boy, this was sure nice!- and more consistently accurate than I've been...I was happy with my shooting...and, so were the guys in the archery dept. there... -It would be a dead animal for sure, anyway-

Makes sense that they couldn't shoot well if they use that method, but have a new unfamiliar bow.
