muggs
Re: NO DEER? I'd suggested hunting off bedding areas in the early morning, they'll be out in the cool night and be all night, try to catch them coming back to there beds. Ravin R10 man
Re: NO DEER? get between bedding and food source, key in on where the does are, late cycling does will keep the bucks around.
Tominator
Re: NO DEER? They might be yarded up. Maybe take a drive around your property with the binocs and glass. If they're yarded, when you find one, you'll find a dozen. This happens to my area every year.
dogdoc
Re: NO DEER? sudden warm temperatures will stop deer movement faster than anything--they become tough to hunt as they go to nocturnal until the temps start to drop again---a tough time to hunt! todd
archerjg
Re: NO DEER? THe deer movement has slowed down here as well as the temperatures have been in the 60's. Archerjg

Guest deldeer
Re: NO DEER? im hunting in md. also, & i seem too only see deer at first light in the morning. they are grouped in large herds right now. been seeing 15 to 25 at a time but can't get a shot at them.( they are on adjoining property). promised i would not shoot on to their property. we have seen nothing in the eve. just to warm........good luck
ilhnter
Re: NO DEER? I don't get stuck up on the temperatures and deer hunting because honestly in southern illinois where i hunt i see just as many deer in the mid 50's as i do when it is in the 30's
Guest deldeer
Re: NO DEER? i can't tell you about ill., but here in the de./md. area, sept. & oct. you can see a good amount of deer when the temps. are in the 60's. but come nov. or later they just hold up somewhere & will not budge. over the years i have kept detailed records on 2 different farms about sightings & harvests. this includes time, date, temps., & conditions, & you can see a big difference in their movements when the temps. start to climb....good luck
JimT
Re: NO DEER? I would scout the food sources for sure. They gotta eat!!!
firefighter
Re: NO DEER? I went through that last year , all the deer hearded up together, got between the food source and bedding areas in the morning and i got a doe with my bow ,,, the temps are suppoce to drop into the 20's saturday morning and only be in the low 30's, think the weather is finally changing ......... so we'll see ....... wtnhunt
Re: NO DEER? Warmer than average temps through most of the season here most definitely had a negative effect on the deer movement. Think I would hunt between the food sources and where you think they are bedding down.
EIGHTPOINT
Re: NO DEER? This time of year is definately tuff. Deer have been hunted hard and are out of their normal movements and mostly nocturnal on heavy hunted areas. You may get some normal movement on property that is not heavily hunted and usually if you see one you'll see alot of deer. Likewise you may sit all day and not see a deer. I prefer to push deer this time of year in areas that I know will hold deer. My favorite place to do this is a farm that is heavily hunted. The properties that I solely hunt by myself I will hunt in my tree stands and let natural deer movement prevail. Good Luck.
