Guest nyhunter24
Well this Saturday is opening day of Southern Zone here in NY unfortunately I won't be in the woods for it, let alone the rest of the season:(. About a month and a half ago I sliped and fell 10 feet hiking near a waterfall and broke my back. It was a burst fracture of the T-12 vertebre but luckily nothing more serious. I can walk and still get around but the doc says no hunting for me. So i get to sit at camp and do absolutely nothing while everyone else gets to hunt. I am not a happy camper as I have a line on a monster 8 point, but it could be worse. Heres to a lucky season for all of you out there who will be hunting the southern tier. Southerngirl
I'm glad you were not hurt worse! Back injuries are not fun to get over, my mom had a few of her vertebre shattered when I was little.
wtnhunt
Sorry to hear that. Hope you have a full recovery from your injury. Maybe that monster 8 pointer will slip through another year and still be around for you and that much bigger the following year.
beagleboy
Speaking from experience, back injuries are no joke and I definately feel your pain. Sitting in camp won't be so bad. I always liked going back to camp and reliving the great old times and new ones, playing cards and relaxing with friends. Comradery has always been on top of the list when sharing camp with hunters. Like you said, it could have been a lot worse.
