Guest realtrhunter
I was wondering what size peep sight ya'll use. I was using a pretty large peep in the past years and switched this year to a smaller one for more accuracy. It is all great during the day but at dusk and dawn it is pretty hard see exactly where the pin is on the animal. I know it is because of less light getting to my eye. What size do you all use? Should I just practice more in low light with the smaller peep or go back to the larger one?
okiedog
I use a 3/16" or 1/4" for hunting and a 1/8" for 3D.
Guest bow_hunter101
It really just comes down to personal preference. I've experimented with a few different sizes. As a general rule the bigger the peep, the better for lowlight conditions; but the smaller the peep the tighter bead you can get on a target. For deer hunting I would recommend a 1/4" peep sight and just practice shooting with the pin in the middle of the peep. Hope this helps

That is true, but when your shooting at a deer at dawn or dusk it makes a big difference whether or not you can see through your peep sight. Also with a large peep sight if the pin is not centered in the peep when you shoot, your arrows trajectory changes. That is why using a smaller peep enables you to center your pin easily and ensure an accurate shot.
Missilelock
Your eye will automaticly enter the pin in the peep....generally for hunting purposes, bigger is is better, as long as you dont get ridiculous. its more important for you to have a clear view if your target than your sight.......lots of practice on your form in the off season & auto pilot takes over on the peep & pin.
