Squirrelhunter91
Today at school there was a stabbing. Apparently some girl was going to be initiated into a local chapter of the bloods and this other girl was talking about it. And part of the initiation apparently is to maim/kill someone. And this girl that was talking about it presented an easy target. So today while the buses were pulling out of the parking lot, around 2:15pm, this girl found the other girl and stabbed her twice in the chest with a kitchen knife. Then when three security guards tried to break it up, two ended up getting slashed and the other stabbed. The attacker was then subdued and held until police arrived. She's obviously in police custody now and was supposed to be arraigned this evening. When I saw a cop go flying up the street, sirens blaring and lights on, I figured there was just another fight at the school. There's a few once in a while that require police assistance. But then when two more cops go by and then another cop with an ambulance, and then another cop with another ambulance, I figured something was up. Then I spoke with a guy 20 minutes later who works at the school, he said that a girl was stabbed. I just spoke to a kid before on the phone who witnessed the incident and he told me who the girl was that was stabbed. I knew the girl. I mean, there's over 3,000 kids in my school and I don't know a lot of them, so because I've known her since 1st grade and it really hits home because I still talk to her. If she's in the hospital tomorrow, I'm going to see if I can go see her. I'm a little upset about the fact that I know the girl and the fact that this stuff happened at my school. My school isn't in a bad area, there are some bad eggs that start trouble and some gang presence but typically no one is bothered and everyone keeps to themselves. I'm not condoning the girl talking about the other girls business, but I mean, did she really deserve to be stabbed? It couldn't have been settled with just a fight or something? Was using a weapon really necessary? This makes me a little uneasy about going to school now. I mean, I mind my own business almost always unless it is a close friend of mine in trouble, but still. I'm just at a loss for words about this. I know the media and school district is going to have a field day over this. They're going to call for metal detectors and more cameras ( yeah we have cameras in the school ) and more security guard presence, etc... Soon it's going to get to the point where they are literally going to give you a full body search before you're allowed into the building. So anyone in Southern NY who gets Ch 7 news or Ch 12 news, watch it. Stabbing at North Rockland High School. Heck.. anyone with a computer could probably google it right now and find something on it. Thanks for letting me vent on here. This is really heavy on my mind right now. Oh and please say a prayer for the girl who was stabbed. Thanks. stevebeilgard
prayers for the little girl said. hope she recovers. what is happening is the making of life a cheap thing. people today are mostly godless, goal less, and think killing is a way to make a name for themselves. really a sad state of affairs. buckee
That is really sad Joe. I agree with Steve B. We live in a Godless society these days, and with all the talk of global warming, save the world, anti this and anti that, our young generation doesn't see a very bright future, and they resort to a "live for today, for tomorrow we die", mentality. Like Steve said, they have no goals. It's a sad state of affairs for sure.

arrow32
Thats horrible Joe. I know how you feel tho bud there for a while this year we had to go through a pat down before even going in the school. It sucks man but hey if it helps ok. Terrible that something like that happened tho no need for that. We have some gangs at our school right now never have been anything to serious between them unitl now because another of them got thrown in jail and now they say there in a gang war and there have been alot more fights and stabbings and what not. No idea what would make a person want to harm someone but some people just arent rigt in the head. Prayers on the way Joe and take care bud. archerjg
Sad to hear that. There are some people that will do stupid things and unfortunately innocent people can and do get hurt. Prayers go out to the girl that was stabbed as well as the security guards that injured. Archerjg
nativetexan
I don't blame god, or the lack of it. I blame parents. For many reasons. Plenty of homes out there where religion is not a huge player that are turning out fantastic kids into society. My opinions on this topic are probably so strong that posting them here wouldn't go over well. Not religion, but what parents aren't doing. In a nutshell though, I believe you should set your standard of living to allow the time needed to raise your children. Throw in a few thoughts on the effects of materialism, and you will have the overall drift of my opinion on this topic.
Turkeygirl
I'm glad I was homeschooled...safe from all the junk going on. And I agree...alot of what these kids are doing now is because their parents are unaware, and/or don't care. Compared to way back when, alot of parents don't have much to do in a kid's life anymore. Glad you weren't involved Joe. Just keep in mind who your real friends are at school. I hope she's ok!

Squirrelhunter91
There was an article in the local paper here yesterday and the girl is being charged with attempted murder, assault and possession of a weapon on school grounds. Guest Scottishhunter
Thats a shame, that poor girl. I've always wondered why theres so much violence in American schools and how kids can get access to weapons especially guns, thats worse. Its rare here, thank god. Squirrelhunter91
Just to update everyone on this.. The girl who was stabbed made a full recovery and is being homeschool now. The girl who did the stabbing is still in Rockland County Jail and is on suicide watch. She's being charged with attempted murder and weapons possesion. But it said the D.A. is willing to make a plea bargain for some sort of assault charge, which is still a felony, according to the newspaper. Not much of a deal if you ask me. They're looking to make one heck of an example out of this incident. They want to make sure it never happens again and I hope they hang her. Personally, I think they should stab her a few times but thats a different story.. Thanks for the prayers everyone..
wtnhunt
Thanks for the update Joe. Glad to hear she made a full recovery. Unfortunately there are loads of people out there who try to kill someone who are a threat to society only to get turned loose, failed justice system. My mind attempted murder charges should carry more serious penalties than they often do. Hope in this case they do make an example of the guilty person. TexasDeerHunter
Glad to hear the victim is doing well. IMO any type of gang related activity should be zero tolerance and a minimum of 5 years in jail. These gangs are nothing but trouble and cause too many innocent people to get hurt or killed. Also, I think the girl in this case should face attempted murder charges period. This kind of behavior is crazy and any prosecutor or court system that wants to just give a slap on the wrist is underminning out judicial system and jepordizing our safety. buckee
Crazy stuff. You just reminded me of one of the reasons I hate large cities. I bet she's in the gang now.
