Southerngirl
I know alot of people are wondering about the new Barnes Triple Shock bullets. We were, this is the first deer killed with some Hank loaded. The pic is kinda gross so don't look if you don't want to see. This was a 160 yard shot with a ruger .243, 85 grain Barnes Triple Shock bullet. Wow what a mess!
Strut10
A tad more periforal damage than a feller would probably expect to see, huh??
wtnhunt
Looks like it made quite a mess eh. Pretty happy with the performance we get out of the factory loaded corelokts here. Shoulda took some pics of the shoulder of the wifes ml buck, she hit bone hard, made quite a mess too.
Southerngirl
no kidding! We were all kinda shocked that it did THAT much. And I'm hunting with Corelokt's myself in my 30-
bearcat
I think that there has been a big misconception that the Barnes TSX bullets were too tough to use on deer. Alot of people think that they will just punch through and not expand very much. This picture sure tells a different story. That bullet expanded and penetrated very well. Barnes has a free dvd out called Bullet Myths Busted. Anyone who is interested in Barnes bullet performance should go on their web site and get a copy of this dvd. Congratulations on the deer. Jeramie
Wow! That energy was definately pushed into that deer. Barnes makes a quality bullet and although it was seriously devistating its amazing the damage that was done with a .243!

Southerngirl
So long as you make a good shot you willnot loose any meat. Roy still got all 4 legs and the tenderloin
Jeramie
So long as you make a good shot you willnot loose any meat. Roy still got all 4 legs and the tenderloin It looks like he clipped a rib and that caused the damage. Ive blown through the lungs before with hardly noticable holes. Regardless of size (cal) tons of damage can and will be done when you clip bone. Regardless, that bullet did the trick and then some! Shaun_300
WOW! I shot my deer this year with a 180gr Winchester Supreme Ballistic tip out of my .300 WSM and it didn't even do a quarter of the damage as that sucker did!
