craig mack
You were a GOOD coach. But you wont be missed. Look out ohio our John Cooper is leaving soon. Right after we lose our next bowl game we can start building a team that can win big games. Hopefully Les Miles says yes.
Tominator
Sorry to see you go LLLLLLoyd. BTW--this move has nothing to do with Ohio State winning, what, 4 in a row, and 6 of the last 7???
GobblerBuster618
maybe the retirement home be nice and cozy for you lloyd.
buckbuster11
Honestly I think Lloyd gets a bad rap. I mean his time is up for sure, but I have a feeling Michigan is going to take another dive with whoever they replace him with. Be careful what you wish for. See Notre Dame. muggs
Blaming a coach for losing to Ohio State is sort of foolish. It's not LLLLLLloyd's fault we're a much better program with superior talent and better execution of a game plan. We don't recruit 5'2" 140 lbs. runningbacks like Hart for one reason- they suck. Speaking of which, good thing Henne and Hart came back for their senior year to beat the Buckeyes too, huh? All Hart did was run his midget mouth while Henne over threw his receivers. When he did hit the "dangerous combo of Arrington and Manningham" they couldn't catch any way. Classic, what a way to lay an egg in the biggest game of your life. I loved every minute of that game. Old school Buckeyes, Woody Hayes style with Beanie running over and around Beatyaagain Wolverines.
Michiganbowhunter_SQ2
See ya Lloyd, you had a good run but unfortunately your time is up . This has been in the works since around spring time, so don' think this season is the cause of it. Injuries took their toll the last couple games, theres no doubt about that. did they effect the out come of the ohio state game, who knows, probably not. the guy had a great career at Michigan and for him to get piled on the way everyone has in rediculous, especially so called michigan fans out there. Nick
Oh Gawd! The new coach better not lose a single game, otherwise the state of Michigan will be nothing but a sunken island from all the tears from the Michigan fans crying because they lost a game. I can't beleive all the whining and crying from my dad and friends about the coaches there... Michigan loses 1 single game and they insist Lloyd is a bad coach and needs to be fired. Give me a break.....the guy had a 75% win rate, several Big Ten titles, and a National Championship. Face it...theres alot of good teams out there and your not going to win every single game year in and year out. I'm sorry if we have any Michigan fans....but the fans are the ones that totally make me dis-like that school. I do admit they have a good football program. But you know what you call a good looking woman at the University of Michigan?? A visitor from Michigan State. Thats all I needed to hear to stay away from Ann Arbor. SuperMn106
It was time for a new coach. Lloyd did a great job while he was at Michigan. He won a National Championship and multiple conference titles. 75% winning percentage is pretty darn good. Ranks right below Bobby Bowden of Florida State and he has done a good job there as well. As a Michigan fan, I am sad to see Lloyd leave but it was time for a new change.

But you know what you call a good looking woman at the University of Michigan?? A visitor from Michigan State. Thats all I needed to hear to stay away from Ann Arbor. Larry Coker won something like 88% of his games while he was at Miami U. But he never won the rivarly game, or the big bowl game. When you're the coach of a program like a Miami and especially Michigan, wins against Indiana, Northwestern etc...don't mean anything. You have one mission, beat Ohio State, and if you dont' do that, you darn well better win the bowl game you go to, especially if that bowl game is the Grandaddy of them all, the Rose Bowl. Ya boy Carr didn't do any of that. He was UM's John Cooper. Cooper never could get his team up for the Michigan game and I believe he even was quoted as saying "it's just another game." Nothing will make you lose your job at OSU quicker than saying something that out of touch with the program. One of Tressel's first comments when he was announced as the new Head Coach was how he would beat Michigan in 347 days...and he did, then went on to own Carr. They've been playing this game since the 1890's, Woody Hayes went for a two-point conversion even though he was already up by 30+ points because "I couldn't go for three." You lose 6 or 7 and get blown out by USC in the Rose Bowl, you might as well move the wife down to a retirement community in the Sunshine State, regardless of the fact you were 14-0 against Northwestern. When you lose your rivalry game and bowl game year after year you should be fired. I dont care what his winning percentage was. You have to beat ohio and you need to win your bowl game. Lloyd lost too many big games because his teams werent prepared and his game plan sucked!!! I dont think I've ever seen him make any kind of coaching adjustment in a game. They did the same thing every game and thats why we lose the big games. You wont find any tears here, I've been waiting for him to leave the last 4 years. AdvantageTimberLou
The man is ready to retire, he has earned it. He was a great talent on the sidelines and his resume is awesome. You always can't go out on top but at least the man loved the game and gave it integrity! Enjoy retirement Lloyd!
