Guest bigalt78
i dont really like to call too much but i do have calls for when i need them. i think everyone needs two grunt calls. and my two favorite are the true talker so you can do your fawn call and the doe bleet, young buck and mature buck grunts. then i would suggest buying the new buck roar/snort and wheeze to go with it so you can have a call that you can growl with. wtnhunt
Have several(at least a half dozen different calls) including the true talker. My favorite is a no name call that the only identification anywhere on it says made in china. It just has a great tone to it. Bought the call over 12 years ago before a lot of people knew much about calling deer. It is solid black call and has an adjustable O-ring. Have the ez grunter and true talker as well as a woods wise call and some others which I also use some, but the old call is what I most often use and it has been responsible for calling in more deer for me than all the others. MUDRUNNER
I'm happy with my True Talker.I've been using mine for about 3 years without any complaints.
RangerClay
I heard from several here that they liked the new Primos Buck Roar for grunting so I asked Santa for one last Christmas. Let me tell you mister, I love this new call. I've been using grunt calls for about 10-12 years now and I have never had the success that I had this season. I retired my TrueTalker. rhine16
I use a primos hardwood grunter. It is also adjustable for the different sounds.
AdvantageTimberLou
I have a fanny pack filled with the, MAD Growler, HS True Talker, A-way outdoors bowgrunter plus and a Primos Call. I like to mix it up and make it sound like several bucks of different sizes are in the are fighting over a hot doe!
HOYTnMUZZYboy
I have 3 calls in my backpack. 1. Primos estrus bleet can. 2. MAD calls grunt snort wheeze. 3. MAD calls growler. I absolutely love the grunt snort wheeze call. I have bought it when it first came out and have used it ever since. A great call IMO. There's alot of great calls out there. But useing the right call at the right time is the key. I dont think it matters whos name is on it, or who uses this one or that one. Spending the time in the deer woods listeing to them in there own habitat is key. I should prolly end this now b4 I ramble on anymore haha. Good luck on your choice and on the rest of the year! maytom
I consider myself a pretty darn good turkey caller, and hence can use a grunt call, etc. as good as the next guy. But, in all these years, I have yet to call in a mature buck!!!! I can see them in the distance, way out of bowrange, but they never come my way!! I also have been using that "Bleat-n-Heat" can doe call with no luck what so ever as well??? Same thing with deer scents and rattling bags? I'm beginning to believe that it's all pure luck at best!! Starting next bowseason I'm not carrying anything, call or scent wise, just going with the "silence is Golden" rule!! I'll be sure to set-up down wind and near a hot spot, after that I'm letting Mother Nature just take it's course.
