Muds Illinois shotgun buck

Had a pretty good weekend for our first shotgun season.I took a doe Friday and seen a monster 150 class 8 with a doe that just wouldn't cooperate.I passed up a few deer Saturday.Sunday morning I had a doe walk right by at 30 yards about ten to six in the morning. It was still dark, but it was bright enough to see it was a doe.About 7:30 this buck came running down off the ridge at about 150 yards.I though another hunter spooked him up the way he came running down.He started zig zagging up and down the ridge and running back and forth. All the sudden he catches the trail from the doe that came through in the dark and starts coming in.I wacked him at about 40 yards and he didn't make it far. He's not a monster by no means, but a good 2 1/2 year old, which meets my critera for a shooter.I plan on getting a euro mount of him.

Nice buck there mud. What kind of shotgun were you using? I shot mine with a single shot 20 gauge.

I have an old Winchester 1300 pump with a rifled barrel.Been using it for about 14 years now.

Ohh yea Buckee! She can't wait to go out.She loves going out checking my trail camera and helping put up stands. My sister asked her what she wanted for Christmas a few weeks ago and her answer was priceless. She said she wanted a princess dress and a shotgun.:DI couldn't have been more proud of her.:D
