Guest goosebuster13
do the 2 blade broadheads like the magnus stinger aka nuge blade and others like the muzzy, steelforce and nap 2 blade broadheads with or without the 2 smaller blades (bleeder blades) make a large enough hole? ive always shot a fix blade with 3 blades the same size. rocky mountains specifically. but i have heard alot of talk about 2 blade heads giving much more penetration, but do they do enough damage and make a large enough hole for a good blood trail? i also have heard the arrow flight can be much better depening on bow speed etc. wat kinda experience has everyone had with the 2 blade broadheads? thanks
PotashRLS
My brother shot a doe probably 6 or 7 years ago now with a two blade SteelForce broadhead. It was a good double lung hit with complete pass through from a tree stand. The doe went about 100 yards with a poor/faint bloodtrail. We found her by grid searching the next morning. She had a slit going in and a slit going out exactly the size of the broadhead. He did not use the bleeder blades because he shot tighter groups without them. We were very unhappy and will not shoot them again. I believe your ultimate goal should be to put as much blood on the ground as you can. This broadhead did not do that. dartonman
I shoot the older Nugent two blade Magnus, and with all sharp heads, shot placement is key....I dont get a great deal of blood, but I get good blood, and the deer dont go very far..last season, a 190 pound buck made it 40 yards bleeding excessively from the two blader.....if you want to try a couple Nuge blades for accuracy, Ill be more than happy to ship 2-3 heads sharpened to your door for free...and tips on shooting them from your bow....just pm me....no obligations.....al
JimPic
I've been using 2-blade heads for years--everything from the old Bear Razorheads to Magnus Stingers and have always had good blood trails
