muggs
Not sure if carbonhunter (aka Aaron) still stops bye, but this should help to feed his fish porn urge while he's in that crap whole desert in Arizona. With bow season and trying to finish off a lot of projects around the house, I got a late start to the fall run of Ohio steelhead. Actually, if there was one year to miss the early season, this was it. Unseasonably warm weather and low flows really didn't bring a lot of fish in, so after some recent rain and cool temps I took advantage and even took along a buddy who hadn't been out in a long time himself. I decided to leave my fly rod at home and throw spawn sacs with my noodle rod for a change, probably a big mistake because I'm sure I would have hammered then with smaller fly patterns, oh well- still a great day to be out. The river was prime and fish were being caught everywhere. All-in-all,, we hooked into 15 or so and landed 8. Nothing to huge, this was the biggest, a beauty who put up a good fight. Guest Andrea
Nice catch!!! Pretty colors in the background too. Congrats on the fish. Fight hard??
muggs
Yeah, they all give you a good fight, very strong fish. All of our hits came in rifles and fast water so once you hooked them you'd have to fight them down stream to slower pools, that's always fun. Tom, did you have to go back and edit that to make it less DBish? Anyway, thanks for the words guys, and Tom, if you'd try it you'd see the beauty. Why else would Aaron make the drive from Granville to catch 'em?

wildside
Sounds like a great time! One August out of Pentwater, Michigan, my husband and I found some nice slick water out on the lake and just hauled in the steelhead right and left. It was an absolute blast! The way they fight when caught sure makes for an exciting day on the water. Glad that you were able to get out there and enjoy some fun and successful fishing with a buddy. Turkeygirl
Nice fish muggs! I should have gotten out but got too busy with school. Not too mention where we steelhead fish, they're extending the thruway over the creek so I'm not sure how much it's affected it. We usually do most of our steelie fishing in the spring. Exciting stuff!
arrow32
Great fish muggs!!! Where were you fishing at?
muggs
Yeah, Shaun, I'm going to try to make it up this year. I'll be in Ontario this February to do some ice fishing on Lake Simco with my friends, but I'd love to fish for pick and smallies in the spring and/or summer up there. Arrow, I do about 99% of my fishing on the Ohio tribs east of Cleveland, there's a few streams on the West side I'd like to try but I have 5 great streams within 45 minutes of my house so I never really see the need.
