Guest baconcobucks
i have heard so many different things in this area when it comes to the deer and animals feeding better and/or worse. Ne one really know or experienced which one is better and why? Are they both good? At what times do the animals move in those moon phases? What phase provides the best deer movement at the best time to be in the woods?
wtnhunt
Full moon in my experience sees less daytime activity. Deer seem to feed heavier at night. I try to hunt when I can regardless of the moon phases though.
BEEF
I pay attention to the moon very much but like wtnhunt i hunt when i can. i was always told when the moon is high in the sky , in 12 hours or so will be the best feeding time say its 8pm well at 8am should be the best but needless to say u have to be in the stand and you never know when ones walking by. ChasinTail
Like the other guys, I hunt anytime I have the chance. That said, my confidence goes up or down with certain phases of the moon. I seem to see less movement the morning after a full moon night. Vise versa, I seem to see magnified movement after a new moon. My favorite time to hunt is a major feed (moon straight up or straight down) either right after dawn or right before dusk. I have killed deer when all things pointed to no movement though! So who knows I guess is what Im trying to say! Here is a cool link though that offers lots of info.... http://aa.usno.navy.mil/data/
rhine16
I nearly always check the fish and game forecast on this site. If you go back to the home page, it is located under resources i believe. It was right on the money yesterday evening
Ambuscher
Full moon is best IMO. You can sleep in on these mornings though. Just be sure and be out there from 10:00 til 2:00. Alot less people in the woods at this time, also.

They move IN THE WOODS mid day & they feed in fields during last light during a full moon. The new or dark moon is best for hunting fields in the mornings. I don't know why but every big buck I've seen in the morning its been during a new or dark moon.
Tominator
Full moon was the other day I think, and on Saturday, I saw one deer at 7:30, then I consistently saw deer until I got down at 11:15.
