Let me start off by telling you how my day went yesterday. I was up on the farm hunting all day before Thanksgiving dinner and went in long enough to talk and eat then went back out. Anyway I was walking some because it had rained and rained hard that morning and the deer weren't moving. I jumped up a monster buck and he ran up on the road I had just came out on I got me a shot on him he was standing broadside and I missed!!!!:eek: I was sick after that I was about to die one of the biggest if not biggest deer you could ever kill in WV and I missed.

Back to today. Me and John (katy's dad) decided to go out to Wirt County and do some hunting there last night and we left the house at about 5:00 this morning. We get up in there and are walking to where and saw a deer running towards us. We stopped and got set up to make sure it wasn't a buck and then 3 more came out they were all doe. Gave us a good show and some shots but neither of us had a doe stamp. They ran off and we went on down to where we were going to sit for the day. We hadn't been there 10 minutes and two bucks came in. One being this awesome 9pt I shot. I watched them walk right towards me for about 10 minutes I had a good rest on a log there and was breathing hard and getting anxious for a shot at ol'mack daddy. Finally about 60 yards away he turns to were he is just slightly quartering towards me and I let the .243 of mine play some music. He didn't move he dropped dead in his tracks!!!! BIG BUCK DOWN!!!

Then the 3pt that was following inbehind him came up and looked at the other buck like what the heck is wrong with him. John was sitting about 15 yards from me and I looked and grinned and a few minutes later that .300 sang its toon 2 bucks down!!

This is a great buck for here in WV. Some other places it might be small but he is a monster. He is getting mounted should make a good one.

We held it up to John's deer he shot in Ohio and it looked like a baby.LOL

Great day of hunting and it only took 45 minutes to do it.

I forget to tell you guys about how many times he had been shot before. When we walked up to him we noticed he had been shot in the right front let another inch up and he would have been a gonner. Then we were standing at the proccesing place waiting for the cap they were just going to let us have it right then and all the sudden we were talking to the guy and he guys heck this thing has been shot with a arrow to.

That buck lived one heck of a life I'm telling ya.lol

That is a good buck, glad to see you got him. He has good tine length and a heavy rack, way to go.

Yeah we had a lot of rain Thursday too. That cold front that moved in Friday was a welcome sight! This morning it was 14 degrees when it broke daylight...you could hear the deer moving from a LONG ways off.
