ChasinTail
Any tips for hunting small property after the rut has cooled down, the deer are more nocturnal, and the temps get colder. Obviously I have to change strategy but it seems my deer sightings go down sharply say mid Dec. I have heard hunting feeding areas is a good bet, but most of the feeding areas on my property are acorns which go away shortly. I have considered trying to get a bit closer to beading areas, but feel like I do more harm than good. I am at a lost and the time is closing in quickly! Any advice that you may have had success with would be greatly appreciated.
rhine16
In the late season here, we hunt food plots every evening. The deer flock to them when the weather gets strenuous. If you have food plots, hunt them. Otherwise try to catch them going to food sources on neighboring farms.

The Kid
i hunt a carrot field in december, we pick most of the carrots but there are so many that don't get picked. Last year i had at least 30 to 40 does a night come out, but those bucks are smart so its usually a big waiting game when it comes down to it. Tominator
I count on my food plots for that. I have soybeans, brassicas, corn, and buck forage oats. The deer like the oats the best. Are you allowed to bait. A lot of guys bait if it's legal, that works pretty good in some cases.
