snapper
I brought home a new (used) gun the other day from an auction. Picked up a Weatherby Mark V Deluxe .300 Wby mag with a straight 4x Leupold scope. Got the high gloss finished stock with cheek piece, rosewood pistol grip and forend and nice checkering. The gun has some small dents/scratches in the wood and a few minor marks in the bluing but I'd still rate this gun at or around 95%. Any guesses what I paid for it? Guest Colorado Bob
At least you got a good scope in the buy. Seriously the 300 Weatherby is an excellant elk caliber. IronBuck used one this past season & it did the job. I took he thru the nastiest blow downs, I could find to put a few scratches in that high gloss finish----It worked too:D As to the price, I'm pretty sure sure you a "little tite" on the dead presidents -----so I'm $550. Strut10
Congrats on picking up one of the greatest rounds ever invented and in its classic platform to boot!! I'm guessing $750-$800-ish.
Leo
Congrats on picking up one of the greatest rounds ever invented and in its classic platform to boot!! Ditto on that sentiment. The 300WBY is an awesome cartridge that I enjoy shooting quite a bit.
Guest Colorado Bob
If you want to unload that worthless Leupold---let me know. Cb
snapper
LOL Bob...I have a few folks already asking about it...but I'll let you know if I decide to upgrade to a vari. scope. I got the gun/scope for $675...btw, its not me who is tight with the money...that would be my wife. I never thought I'd get it under $800 seeing how a few guns sold for around that and more...and they were Savage 99's. They were in nice shape, but none had good scopes and those 99's weren't worth what folks were paying for them. Prob. wait to get some ammo and fire it after deer season/winter. Strut10
You might as well sell the 4x to Bob for use on some SCOPEr rifle that won't shoot any further than 4x can see. You'll NEVER be able to see the 600 yard gong at the next OTPG Blast Off through 4x.

Tominator
"Maroon" or "moron"?? Even though I'm a SCOPER, I think I can safely say either works. Congrats on the gun Gregg.
