what's your favorite for deer hunting?

Hank is agravated by the Barnes triple shocks in .243 because after 20-25 shots the barrel is fouled and has to be spotlessly cleaned again or accuracy is comprimised. He has tried different cleaning stuff and thinks he is getting the barrel clean and has followed the Barnes tips for breaking in a new gun. He has put a couple hundred shots thru the gun.

I like "Hornady" interlocks. I use the 180 grain bullet out of my 30/06 for everything. It has worked great on elk, moose, mtn goat, bighorn sheep, antelope, black bear, mtn lion, mule deer & whitetails. When I pull the trigger----time get out the knife. CB

I use 150gr nosler ballistic tips in my 7mm Weatherby mag, good shot placement with those jaspers,no tracking what so ever.just don't hit a bone, they will make a mess.I believe that berger makes a hunting style round, but they are mostly maketing towards paper punchers. Many folks say that Match type bullets aren't good hunting bullets, but a friend of mine uses 168gr sierra matchkings in his 308,and hasn't lost a deer yet when shot in the vital area.
