Re: Home made cover up scent

I am sold...... And so dang logical too. Thats the part I love. cool.gif

I spent a ton on carbon blast and we go threw it quick.

As I have stated in other posts, I love to make my own......well... just about everything. Gun and bow excluded.

I will give your formula a try.

What do you call it so I can give you credit when we are both on a hunting show in say a couple decades! LOL

Question: Does your hunting clothes suddz up if rained on? Does it bubble when you apply it via spray bottle?

Could be the trick I am looking for... Thanks!

Here's the math:

Hunters Specialty Green Soap - $3.87 (Walmart)

16oz hydrogen peroxide - $0.50

Baking Soda - $0.50

Distilled Water - $0.59 (you can use creek water if its relatively clear...anything without the chlorines and iodides of city tap water)

Creek Water - $0 (don't forget to subtract 59 cents)

= $5.46 ($4.87 with creek water)

Yield = over 1 gallon of scent killer, that’s 128oz

You can also use the soap to shower with, which I do, and one bottle has lasted all year between showering and making the scent killer - so the cost of the soap can't be fully considered.

WildLife Research Scent Killer = $8.94 for 24oz = $0.37 per ounce

Robinson Labs Scent Blocker Carbon Blast = $9.99 for 32oz = $0.31 per ounce

Super Duper Homemade Do-It-Yourself and Stop Getting Screwed at the Cash Register Scent Killer wink.gif = $5.46 for 128oz = $0.04 per ounce

I have used store bought stuff, but I would go through it so quick that I was afraid to really use it. This stuff is so cheap that I spray everything, right down to almost every layer of my clothes, and I usually use a full 12 ounces before I set out. Works for me!
