NY911Bowhunter
Re: bowhunting geese.. I was going to post on this very thing at work tommorow - but since you asked; I watched the Double Bull TV show on the Mens Channel the other day - they were bowhunting for candian geese. What they did was set up a couple of DB ground blinds, set up a deke spread, and shoot the gees once they were on the ground. it looked like tons o fun, and I may even try it next year. billkay
Re: bowhunting geese.. I read a story a year or so ago in the waterfowler.com magazine about hunting tundra swans, (I think) with long and recurve bows. They used the flu flu arrows. Looked like a blast. Tominator
Re: bowhunting geese.. Good luck. I have a tough enough time with a shotgun. I remember one day while bowhunting for deer looking down into this creek and seeing what I swore was a goose. This thing looked exactly like a goose. I said to myself "self, get down to that creek and try to shoot that goose." Well, I never did, and as I watched my imaginary goose never move for 2 hours I surmised that it could not have been a goose, and I was right. it was just a stick that was curved just like a goose neck. That began, and ended my goose hunting career with a bow. I hope your trip goes better than mine did.
ZooBear
Re: bowhunting geese.. Check your local laws before you go. Geese are a Federal Migratory Game Bird and cant be hunted with a bow here in Iowa.
LifeNRA
Re: bowhunting geese.. [ QUOTE ] I've drawn on a few but never released.....around here we have thousands of snow geese that land at a very secluded lake that about a dozen hunters have access to. I get to be one of those lucky hunters. I will be trying this hard corps next year.....but I want to try gobbler gillotines!!!! Off gos the head!!! [/ QUOTE ] LMBO!!!!!!!!! Yeah they look mean too!!! TreeStandBowHunter
Re: bowhunting geese.. Heck I have a hard enough time with a gun let alone a bow. It sure sounds like fun though. Good luck and let us know how you make out.
