Still hunting....?

I'm looking for some good tips for still hunting deer...anyone got any? We finally have snow on the ground and during the week no one else is out so I'm planning when I get home from school to still hunt a little bit...see if I can sneak up on a buck.

Is windy weather bad conditions for such or no? Monday is suppose to get really windy, a west wind, which is a good wind for where I want to hunt, but didn't know if gusts up to 46 mph is good or not...:rolleyes:

What's some good buck territory to hunt through? Andy and I were out yesterday doing small 1 person drives because the deerj ust aren't moving until dark...and we didn't push anything out of these perimeter woods an little islands we usually do...it looks like the deer are sticking in the big woods.

the wind reduces the noise factor, you can make a few mistakes and still be successful... move slow, bino your path often. depending on how thick of cover your hunting you have to pick out parts of a deer rather than seeing the whole animal, a leg, ear twitch. just move slow, place each foot down easy and feel for branches or noisey footing, keep the wind to your advantage, and you'll be fine

Read your other thread, think you figured it out. Congrats again on the doe. Did a little still hunting here yesterday myself in the high winds. Got within about 30 yards of a deer before it jumped up in the brush along the river where I circled the long ways around putting the wind in my face. Could not tell for sure what it was though.
