Tomorrow is clinical and I get 2 patients for the first time, wwaaaaaaaa:eek: Although it is a dinky rural hospital that is basically like long term care type of setting, I'm assigned 2 people and get to give my first injection tomorrow...insulin. Yikes! Wish me luck! I'll let ya all know if I make it through...

wtnhunt
Good luck with the injections when you get to do your clinical Ruth. My wife used to practice that stuff all the time. The tiny gauge insulin needles, should not have to worry too much about hurting your guinea pigs:rolleyes:.
Tominator
I'm assigned 2 people and get to give my first injection tomorrow...insulin. Piece-O-cake. My wife does it 4 times a day. I've offered many times to inject her butt, but she's never let me. Had to inject myself with Sandostatin a few times. Was supposed to do it for a month until I found out insurance didn't cover Sandostatin and the prescription was over $1,000!

mrswtnhunt
You will be fine. Good luck. And remember your documentation. The first rule of nursing is if you don't document it, "You didn't do it". Best of luck in the program. And remember if you need any help or have questions feel free to ask. Let us know how you do.
