Re: Wat number shot

I have used 1's before they will work, i would atleast use a modified choke. I prefer BB or BBB goodluck you might want too save those 1s for duck season.

Re: Wat number shot

Depends what kiind of goose hunting you're doing. If you've got them coming into decoys shooting #2s or #1s should be no problem, but I'd recommend picking up some BB / BBB / T shot as your 3rd shot. When I goose hunt I usually start with a 3" 2 chill or 1 chill as my lead shot and then back it up with BB or BBB for shot 2 and 3.

Re: Wat number shot

Dude,

I shoot a double barrel 10 guage at geese coming into dekes and I shoot 3 1/2" shells in T or TT shot. I ahve some 12 guage shells in bb, but I hate them. The bigger the shot, the less pellets need to hit them to bring them down. When I shoot at a goose, I rarely miss. I know when I have hit them, b/c they drop. Hunting on a field does help as well.

Re: Wat number shot

i like using T loads or even F just the fact of quicker kill and easer to clean out 3 or 4 big holes in the breast then 20 or 30 you get with lighter loads. the 1 shot steel will work ok for decoying birds but i wouldn't use it for high flyers or pass shooting, just my thoughts. good luck!

its called hunting, not killing!

Re: Wat number shot

If you had cripples with T's , then you need to go get a good choke for your gun and PATTERN IT!!!! The T shot has a lot more knockdown power. Try a tighter choke than the one you are using.
