Tominator
Lots of good ones out there for the price. I'd recommend the Thompson Centers if you can afford it, their features are tough to beat.

wtnhunt
Wal Mart here carries a few different ml'ers. They have a tc, think it is called a workhorse maybe or something like that which is an omega if i am not mistaken and their price on that is right around $300. Still hunting with a black diamond here and been very happy with it. Several good inlines on the market as well as the break action type muzzleloaders. Midway still sells the black diamond rifles too.
Guest scubabeartoo
Have you checked out the NEF break open muzzle loader? If you were to purchase one as a larger caliber rifle then you could have any barrel fitted to it for less tha $100.00.
Bownarow
Savage ML10-II is a great gun. Esecially if smokeless powder is legal in your state you can't go wrong with the Savage. Easiest cleaning (basically none) ML on the market. I love mine and would never shoot any other ML. You owe it to yourself to at least check it out. Nick
You can get a Knight Revolution for just over $300......Thats what I shoot and have never had a mis-fire and the gun will drive tacks. Real easy to clean as well.

My dad has an NEF ML and it patterns about 1.5" at 150 yards dead on. Easy to clean and 1/2 price as most others of the same quality.
