NS whitetail
If you are not careful and end up standing in the rope ---- you'll be going for a dip and straight to bottom and become fishfood this is how we shoot the lobster traps off the boat. Guest Andrea
Kinda reminds me of a movie I saw.... Wonder how fast you go to the bottom if you screw up? Ever had that happen to one of your crew members?
stevebeilgard
done similar with halibut skates and crab pots. pretty dangerous. longliners have it the worst.... as for me, i'm done with all that, except the eating. good luck. was that octopus for bait??? same with halibut. Alisha
I'll stick to bait bags and playing with the lobsters that need to be banded. IMO I'm too clumsy to be around that rope, but I guess you'd get used to it after a while. Be careful Lewis!

buckee
Yep...reminds me of the time we were Halibut fishing. The long-line was flying out the shoot, and I just happened to catch a hook in my sleeve. I held on instinctively real quick, and lost part of my sleeve and glove. I got off REEEEEEAAAAL Lucky. NS whitetail
SG ------ I will try, that's if my Dad will do the taping --- he is 65 and technology stupid :D:D Shaun ------- right now we are in anywhere from 14 fathoms to 25 fathoms ( 1 fathom = 6 feet ). Later we will go deeper to 40 fathoms or so. William ----- yes, every once in a great while you can see many traps going to once not often and its a pain when they do because you have to haul it back and clear it
