TreeStandBowHunter
Just thought I would post a video of myself golfing to make some of you jealous because some of you in the "cold regions" can't golf anymore this year:D:D:D Seriously, look at this video and analize my golf swing for me. I think it looks pretty good. I think it finally looks like where I want it and I hit solid golf shots 90% of the time (we won't talk about my short game:D). I posted a 87 Wednesday so I shouldn't have anything to complain about. http://s3.photobucket.com/albums/y62/mshzmiller/?action=view¤t=MikesGolfShot.flv
Guest Finn
Looks pretty good, Mike. Maybe shift your weight to the left on follow through a little better, that's about it. Nothing wrong with an 87 Oh yeah.....I am a little jealous, but glad to be bowhunting this year instead of golfing....come Feb, I'll be way jealous! Shaun_300
Nice looking swing there Mike! My short game used to kill me too, until I learned how to chip/pitch confidently around the green, that knocked an easy 8-10 strokes off my game! Ohiobucks
Cinderella story. Outta nowhere. A former greenskeeper, now, about to become the Masters champion. He's on his final hole. He's about 455 yards away, he's gonna hit about a 2 iron I think. It looks like a mirac... It's in the hole! It's in the hole! It's in the hole! Nice swing Mike. What kind of distance are you getting out of your 5 iron? 87 is not too shabby at all.
TreeStandBowHunter
That shot you watched was a choked down 6-iron for 165 with a 8 ft birdie putt (I ended up with a par). If I hit a full 5 clean, I can get about 180-185 with it. I like to choke down on my clubs, I get a more solid shot with them. With that, I lose about 5 yds with them. I am usually on the green in regulation and if not in regs, pretty close to it. My short game sucks though. I can chip and run a ball to the hole with a 7-8 iron from 50 yds out but my problem is when I have a lie or an angle that I have to use a PW to chip on. NEWSBREAK:D I finally broke down and bought a 58 degrees "L" wedge today from Ping. I have not toyed with it on the course but did a little chipping out back this evening. I think I will like it. I needed something so I can sit the ball on the green. The greens here are like lighting.
Guest Finn
One thing that helped me with my short game is when I practice, I rarely hit shots with anything more than an 8 iron. Most are from 100 yards and in. I have a 56 degree vokey wedge that is my life saver around the green.
TreeStandBowHunter
Like I said above, I just bought a 58 degree wedge that I think will help me. Actually, I have a real nice 7-iron chip from about 75 yds that runs the ball right to the hole. I have that shot mastered actually. Sometimes I will leave a hole short just so I can make that shot especially on par-5's. Most times I chip with my 8 or 9. But for those times you don't have much green to work with and you need to sit the ball down quick, that's when that higher degree wedge comes in. Hopefully it will bring me success.
