Tominator
Recommendations for a base and rings for a Black Diamond? What do you all think?
wtnhunt
Used some rings and bases from wal mart for mine Chris. Think they were from cva if I remember right, and they are supposed to be return to zero type rings. I went with the see throughs so I could still use my open sights to check the scope after cleanings to make sure it was back on zero. Been happy with the setup. Could take some pics if you want me to.
archerjg
I put Leupold quick release rings and bases on mine and have been very happy so far. I can still use my iron sights if I need or want to. Archerjg
Tominator
OK, let me refine the question. Will this base fit the Black Diamond? http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/links/link.jsp?id=0018849211812a&type=product&cmCat=Search_Results_NYR&returnPage=search-results1.jsp&QueryText=thompson+center+base&N=4887&Ntk=Products&Ntx=mode+matchall&Nty=1&Ntt=thompson+center+base&noImage=0 According to Cabelas it's for the Encore. Didn't know if bases have standard screws or what.
wtnhunt
Dont think so Chris. The breech area is going to require you to use a two piece base with the black diamond. Try this link http://www.midwayusa.com/ebrowse.exe/browse?TabID=10&Categoryid=14666&categorystring=657***8705***11711***14637***

What base and ring combo do you have? Seems there aren't too many options for this gun.
wtnhunt
Thanks William. Is your Black Diamond scoped? What base and ring combo do you have? Seems there aren't too many options for this gun. Yes it is Chris, I have a 3-9X40 bushnell on the gun. I got the rings and bases for my black diamond from wal mart back in 2003. They were made by cva, it is not a weaver style base, but is similar my rings are see through type which I personally prefer on a gun that has sights. Dont know if cva makes them anymore or not, but it works well. Here is a link http://www.cva.com/products/outfits_scope_pack.htm to the rings and bases in a combo kit with a scope, not what I bought, but does look like the same rings and bases. LETMGROW
I have Weaver bases and Weaver Quad Lock detachable rings on my Black Diamond. Along with the Simmons Pro Diamond 1.5-5 scope it has proven to be a good combination. I'll try to find the # for the base. Lynn
LETMGROW
I found it. The part # is Weaver 411. 2 piece set. Should be available almost anywhere. Check out this website:www.GunAccessories.com I'm in love!
