Metal detectors....

My 9 yr. old boy wants one for his birthday...we have a nice big back yard with acres of land behind us to explore....any of you guys try these ? And are they fun.....hope my son finds some bury treasure and retire off my riches.....lol ! Its either this for him or a camping tent.

It must have been around 1980 my parents bought me a Whites 6000D. Man I had a blast with that thing. I found some unbelievable stuff. I haven't thought about it in years. It is still up in my parents attic. Might have to go dust it off.

I have this gift card at Dicks sporting goods for $100.......they have one for that price....seen them for $250 but I don't want to spend that much......I hope he gets into it......but he also likes the night vison binoc's too....anything electrical he likes.

My son got one a few years back from my dad. It is one of the cheapy ones, but it does work.

An added benefit to it is finding arrows that miss the target. crazy.gif I've found more than a couple errant arrows with it. Now that I shoot carbons, I have to be right on top of that arrow's head in order to find it.

I think they'd be fun! smile.gif
