Last Day Buck!!!

Dad got over about 5AM this morning. He got us breakfast from Micky D's. I was kind of excited to get this morning due to the snow on the ground. Gathered all my gear and started my way to my stand. On the way in I noticed a good amount of tracks running in all directions in the snow. This made me even more excited to get to my stand. Once there I did my usual routine and prepared myself for a long sit.

Daylight came late. About 20 minutes after seven this morning I caught movement to my west. At first I thought I seen a very high rack. But since it was the last day of the rifle season, any legal buck will do for now! LOL! This deer was going to make me work for him. He would only give me bits and pieces of view. Then I thought he walked away! Around 7:35AM I caught him moving up the mountain. With all the fallen trees I didn't have many shot opportunities! I found a small open area, I am guessing about 15 inches wide ahead of him. Looked above the scope to see what might be in front of the gun. Two trees at varying distances which looked like they were inches apart! Got back in the scope seen the antlers, then his head, as soon as the shoulder appeared I fired one shot. Never seen the buck run up or down the mountain. I walked over and guessed it to be about 75-85 yards. Since it was the last day of rifle season, any legal buck was fair game!
