Euro Mounts

I have done several euro mounts using sodium carbonate purchased through Van Dykes to boil the skull with, recently I used a liquid from from Sportsmans Warehouse and it did not work as well. Anyone use other products that work well? I have three do in the next week or so.

I have always used the chemicals in the kits like you have used in the past.

I have yet to use any chemical, I just boil mine and peel the meat and junk off. I watched okiedog the other day do one, and the meat seemed to come off better. I did some searching, and found that you can get the sodium carbonate from a pool supply store. May try that on the one I have left to do

someone told me or I read somewhere that you can add dawn soap to the water.....Supposibly it helps the meat and what not come off??

I usually forget to try it till after I'm done..

I tried that on one I did awhile back, and I didn't see a difference

would acetone work? Prolly a stupid question but just asking for the sake of asking.

Don't think acetone would work. The sodium carbonate works well in removing the meat and helps to bleach the skull before applying bleach paste. So far it's the best I have used, just looking for some input to see if anyone has had better luck with other products. Thanks for the input.
