Guest COACH J.
Bobby Patrino resigned as falcons head coach today to go back to the college game and coach Arkansas. Do theese guys think they are gona have instant success in the nfl? Steve Spurrier,2 years Nick Sabban,2 years Patrino 13 games!!! They cant handle the pro's the 50 man roster or the players ego's...Some people will say Patrino did Arthur Blank wrong for walking out with 3 games left but I say what goes around comes around..Blank fired Dan Reeves with 3 games left in the season just a few years ago and Reeves had just taken the falcons to the super bowl a couple years earlier.. Patrino might have been wrong for doing it but Blank got what he deserved!
Yellowhammer
I just saw that on Yahoo. Wow what about that. The Falcons ship is going down at the double quick.
buckbuster11
Can't really blame Petrino though. I mean, no coach in the history of the NFL has had to walk into a bigger disaster then the Falcons have become this year.

I quit watching the Falcons years ago. You can't put everything in the hands of a bunch of thugs and expect smooth sailing. Blank is an idiot. Mora knew exactly what was up, that's why he got the heck out of dodge. I feel bad for all the assistant coaches that Petrino brought to Atlanta. It's gonna be tough for them to find another coach. muggs
Oh, I can blame Petrino...no question. John, there's three games left...THREE GAMES!!! Do the honorable thing and finish the season. At the very least, look the owner and players in the eye before you jump the sinking ship to save your own tail. Arkansas is willing to invest 5 years in him, and they can't wait 3 weeks?? Unreal... btw- I heards this clown sold Tommy Tuberville down the river too so he could get the head job at Louisville...that's all you need to know. This guy has 0 character. toddyboman
Have to agree with Muggs.... Petrino is a quitter/no class coach IMHO. :mad:Yes the Falcons suck and in a world of hurt but don't just jump ship like that at least finish the season...... Then he has no more walked away from the Falcons and head straight to Arkansas. And I do mean straight to....Was anyone else up late enough to see the LIVE new conference of him accepting the Arkansas position and then they (alumni, students, faculty) showing him how the Razorbacks call goes.....:rolleyes:

Finish up the season and then resign. This pretty much nailed his coffin shut of ever becoming an NFL coach again. Seen on ESPN the players were kinda happy he was gone, so apparently he was not the right man to coach this team.
Guest Finn
He did get a bad deal with losing Vick and Shaub, but he really should have finished the season. Pretty low class act to jump early.
buckbuster11
Even Joey Harrington was talking trash on him, if he's talking trash Petrino must have been a real DB.
